Structured Packings
Invented in early 1960’s, Wire Gauze Structured Packing in particular fulfils the special requirements demanded by the fractionation of thermally instable substances under vacuum conditions. This is achieved by a special wire mesh with a capillary effect. The wire mesh has the form of corrugated lamellae and builds up the packing layers. With its low pressure drop and its high fractionation efficiency this type of packing is also very suitable for very low liquid loads.
